So your brief for this competition is easy, write a short story or poem with racing as the theme. Your poem or story can include your favourite driver or track (Stansted obviously), It can be true to life or totally fictional and the more creative the better. There are lots of websites to point you in the right direction to give you the edge. One listed opposite. So with more local lockdowns coming and school holidays looking like they will be extended what better way to give your kids their racing fix and sneak in a little homeschooling.
So the rules there's got to be rules it's not dirt rods!!!
Stephanie at Mad Jam photography has again kindly offered to do the artwork to frame the winning entry with a montage of your favourite driver and there is free entry to a meeting of your choice but im sure there will be a trophy and some chocolates as well.
And will publish your entry on our website for the world to see.
So you can take your inspiration from other short stories like the Mr Men books or Thomas the tank engine (im showing my age here) and visit the websites listed below to an easy guide on content and layouts.
Thank you for all your entries, the competition has now closed and we have picked our winner. It was tough to judge as there were some great entries and some interesting ones too. But the best design that will not only stand out for years to come also fitted the brief perfectly was entered by Sophie Jones age 15 from Bishops Stortford.
Your voucher for the newly named Pitstop Cafe will be emailed to you and the trophy, signed framed print and family ticket will also be posted out shortly. Don't worry they are not date sensitive and will still be valid when we start racing again.
And as an added bonus one of your slogans is now the strapline on the top of this website.
Below are some snaps of Chris's artwork of the design as it comes together.
and a before and after shot. More competitions to come, keep ya eyes peeled.
